I'm experiencing on-going problems with my caregivers and getting minimal help from facility management. I have experienced thinly-veiled threats and retaliation for making my opinions known and reporting poor care.

I hate living in a nursing home for many reasons and I'm sure to chronicle them here.

A few friday nights ago, I was allowed to fall from a bedside commode while strapped to a sit-to-stand lift. The most obvious cause was two-fold. I was bent forward to facilitate cleaning, however both of my caregivers have real trouble understanding me and they are not rich in caregiving experience. Yet, they are given full charge of approximately 15 people, with me thrown in, who needs help with 100% of her activities of daily living (ADL's). I've scolded one for not wearing her gait belt, which is reportedly part of their uniform. This night, they failed to put a gait belt on me nor did they keep my non-slip socks clear of my pants. Neither did they pay heed to my repeated entreaties to Move Move my pants nor did they prevent my fall when I kept repeating "I'm falling ".
